Executive Board Meeting
October 23, 2002
Present: Bowman, Hitzemann, Olson,
Campbell, Derr, Hampton, Hazelbaker, Ampe
Meeting was called to order by
President Derr at 7 p.m.
Robert Quick, DCTA Webmaster, was
present to preview the website and discuss the process with the Board. He
will now proceed with the detailed set up.
The minutes and treasurer’s report
were approved.
General Meeting- Nov. 13 at
the Town of Madison. Russell Knetzger, a planner from the Milwaukee area,
will speak on “Is Bigger Better and Cheaper?” A buffet lunch will be served
at 6:30 with the general meeting at 7:30 p.m.
By-Laws Amendments – Mark
outlined the suggested changes that will be handed out to members at the
November meeting with a vote taken in January, 2003.
Discussion of WTA by laws to make
them more responsive to towns –“ user friendly”.
A motion was made by Bowman to write
a letter to WTA asking to form a committee to change the bylaws and
resolutions procedures to allow more member participation. Second by
Hitzemann. Carried.
Smart Growth – It was
suggested that WTA poll the membership to get their opinions on smart
growth. It was felt that DCTA should also poll its membership for their
opinions. This will be done at the January meeting.
Oa 23 regarding length of cul
de sac. The group felt that this amendment should be supported with the
understanding that the town should decide on how long a cul de sac should
be. A motion to support was made, seconded and carried.
RPC – Falk has withdrawn
from the lawsuit because judge felt she had no standing. Mark is filing a
lawsuit to intervene with Jerry Derr as the plaintiff.
Facts & Fiction – Mark feels
that it is time to do another report from the 2000 census data that is on
file with the RPC. Jim Mueller was suggested as a person who might be
interested in doing this. A motion was made to have Pat contact him to see
if he is interested. Seconded and carried.
Pat Ampe – A motion was
made, seconded and carried to begin the extra hours and increased pay for
the Administrative Assistant position as of October 1, 2002.
Motion to adjourn. Seconded and
carried.
