E-Mail as a Public Record
UW Madison is putting on two workshops covering the management of E-mail and electronic records management on March 6 and May 12, 2003.  What are your options for sorting and storing e-mail messages?  Do you keep too much e-mail "just in case."  This is one of the most misunderstood topics related to public records.

Farmland Use Values Will Fall in 2003
Farmland Use values will fall to a statewide average of $136 per acre in 2003, down from 2002's $191 average.  This is expected to reduce property taxes from an average $4.40 per acre to $3.23 per acre, according to state Dept. of Revenue.  The reductions were approved in October by the statutory Wisconsin Farmland Advisory Council.  Since its introduction in 1995, the farmland use value law has saved farmers $767 million in property taxes.
