General Member Meeting

Town of Bristol

July 13, 2005 

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by President Jerry Derr. 

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sandra Dulin and Scott Grove. 

Derr introduced guests from County Board (Hendrick, Bruskewitz, Gau).  Art Riese from WTA, Jolene Plautz from Urban Towns Association (Lobbyist), Jeff Endres (Farmer/speaker) and Kevin Connors (Rep for Falk) were also present. 

Manure Management

A handout was provided to the audience-see attached.

Jeff Endres provided pictures of his fields during different stages of thaw, different slopes, and conditions of the fields.

County will offer some educational seminars—those who attend may have the fee waived. 

OA Updates

The towns will prepare a resolution, to bring to the County, to return fees to people who have been paying for private septic tanks.  There was a total of $175,000 +/- collected in fees last year.  All but $41,000 was given back as grants while $135,000+/- was used for administering the program. 

Roll Call was taken and 15 towns were present. 

Door prizes were provided by Supervisor Duane Gau and Graef Anhalt & Schloemer, a DCTA advertiser.

    • Trip to Washington D.C. in September - -National Convention
    • WTA Annual Meeting will be held in Stevens Point.

     

  1. Urban Towns Association – Jolene Plautz

She provided an update on what is going on in the legislature and if it will have any affect on the Towns:

·         The towns will receive a 2% increase for road repairs.

·         There will be no change for shared revenues.

·         Currently working on the Charter Town Bill 

Krantz made a motion to adjourn.  Seconded by Bankes and carried.
