Planning is very important!

RPC Discussion:

Mike King provided a power point presentation—see attached

Comments from Jeff Miller, Jerry Derr and Mark Hazelbaker on the status of RPC and where we’re going:

We need a policy body and we need to create an agency that will work for everyone.

Currently a 60-day suspension w/in the DNR in actively reviewing applications for zoning purposes. Zoning office is still accepting applications and going thru the normal process.

There is a statute that gives communities the power to work together in forming a RPC.

The County does not deliver services to municipalities, but they do offer some regional services.

Cities & Villages, DCTA, Madison Mayor Cieslewicz and the Dane County Exec (Kathleen Falk) will be meeting 11-17-05 to discuss RPC and get feedback from the County.

Comments from the audience:

How will the results of the meeting be communicated? Email and/or letter?

WTA – Art Riese:

The handbook will be coming after the first of the year.

Road Ratings should be turned in by December 15.

Hampton made a motion to adjourn. Second by Bankes. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
