General Member Meeting –Town of Oregon

October 10, 2007

President Jerry Derr called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.

Art Riese led the pledge of allegiance. A moment of silence was held for the late Harland Dahlk.

A sympathy card will be sent to the Harland Dahlk family along with a donation of $100 from the DCTA to the scholarship fund with the WTA.

Introduction of Guests:

Pat Downing, John Hendrick, Duane Gau, Eileen Bruskewitz, Jerry Jenson, Dave Mahoney, Art Riese, Dr. Schlenker, and Justin Sargent (81st Dist. Assembly Candidate)

OA Update

OA 16: Co Bd is trying to work towards a compromise. There will be a work meeting held on 10/18/07 at 6:30pm to discuss this OA.

OA 17: There will be a public discussion on 10/19/07 at 3pm in Rm 309 of the City/County bldg.

OA 36: still in progress, but currently on hold.

CARPC: deadline was extended to 9-28-07. There are 4 finalists; Brian Standing, Tim Dewitt, Joe Guidle (sp), and Frank DeNov (sp). The top 3 will move forward.

Dr. Schlenker – Environmental Health Report Card

Goal is to become one health department by 1-1-08.

He provided a power point presentation (which can be found on the health dept’s website)

He would like to coordinate with towns to sell home kits to test wells.

Jim Clark will be leaving department, will be replaced.

WTA –Art Riese

Road report due by beginning of December to DOT.

Budgets will need to be done regardless if State budget is done.

Annual Convention in Green Bay, 10-21 thru 10-24.

Dave Mahoney – Dane County Sheriff

2006 Annual Report will be distributed to towns in the next couple of weeks.

Currently working on the budget

148 inmates are currently being housed outside Dane County.

Would like to expand the electronic monitoring program

 

Jennifer Alexander: Regional Economic Development Entity (REDE)

Gave a power point presentation

Town Dues:

Krantz: Motion to approve the 2008 Town Dues.

Hampton: second. Motion carried.

Regional Transit Authority (RTA):

a listening session was held on 10-10 at Fitchburg

30 were registered to speak

4-5 were in favor of RTA

options would be given to municipalities to opt in.

A second listening session will be held in Sun Prairie. A third session will be held, location unknown.

Roll Call was taken. 12 towns present.
