Temporary  Officers for the County Board In The Event Of Recount

 

These two ordinances have been proposed in response to the last County Board election.  Under state law, the winner of an election cannot be seated until the timeline for appealing a recount has passed.  That means a recount petition prevents a winning candidate from voting for County Board chair, because the appeal deadline does not expire until after the date on which the County Board reorganizes under state law.
